4th of July
well this year we decided to do something different than just watch our money go up in smoke with fireworks...so we and some of our close friends(more like family) went on the mountain...we got up there on Thursday night and it was beautiful...the spot was right next to a stream and in the trees real secluded and peaceful(will post photo soon). That night it started to rain, but by morning it was another beautiful day.
The Grant's got up there on Friday in the early afternoon, but by the time they got all unpacked and the guys barely got the tarp up over the fire pit and around the eating area it started to rain again and didn't stop until after dinner...Thank goodness we got in a ride before all that happened.
So needless to say we got about a few hours in the morning and early afternoon before the rain started and we had to stay under shelter. We all managed to have a really good time though just visiting and eating...there were 6 little boys there and only one girl, RJ, she didn't seem to mind, since she loves doing what they do.
When it came time to leave on Saturday evening we got everything packed up and then had to get the vehicles out, which was fun to watch but also nerve wracking since Keith got out while driving straight but the truck was completely side ways on the rode...and then it was our turn...while pulling the horse trailer, Shane gunned it threw the mud and then hit the last rut and the trailer almost went over but since he never let up off the gas it stayed and he made it out. Then Jose and I walked the horses to the trailer...we had to do that so it wasn't so heavy and less likely to get stuck.
so we certainly had an adventures weekend...we actually made it home early enough to watch fireworks but after we got back to the house from unloading the horses and all our stuff from the truck and taking showers, we were so tired, we just stayed inside and watched some tv then went to bed. I hope all had a good and safe 4th, we shall see what we can come up with for next year...LOL!!!
