8 states & back again
well I didn't have time like I thought I would to post photos of things along the way...we traveled with our friends that are like family to us(Keith and Helen Kay Grant) from home all the way to Virginia to drop off a load of horses( 7 to be exact)...it was certainly a trip I will never forget all though some of it is a blur since it all happened in 7 days...we left here on Sunday the 19th and headed out and made it all the way to Sioux Falls South Dakota and stayed with a niece of Keith's...every night we had to unload the horses and make sure they were settled before we even thought about ourselves...and so we got to bed around midnight and then got up at 6 to get ready to get the horses and head out again...the second day we made it all the way somewhere in Missouri...this time we stayed in a hotel and the horses got dropped off about 10 miles away in a horse boarding place...and again got to bed really late and got up really early...after collecting the horses we headed out again for the 3 day and got to Lexington Kentucky...there the horses stayed in there very own suite...each had their very own stall...I will say by far Kentucky was the most BEAUTIFUL of all the states we traveled through...we actually got to have a really nice meal that night since we got in quite a bit earlier than any other night...Texas Road House was the place and man it was so good (I ate way to much)...then off to bed...we got a great start that day and headed for Virginia on the 4th day and made it there around 7 their time, 5 our time...so we got to visit awhile and have a lovely dinner with our friends...Virginia is gorgeous too but still I have to say Kentucky wins hands down...we decided to head down the road that night and get as far as we could before calling it a night and we got all the way to Charleston West Virginia and got in bed by midnight...we did that so we could be that much closer to Missouri since we had to be there for a wedding the next day...we got to St. Louis Missouri by 4pm the next day and got pushed off the freeway do to road construction and had to find our way on side streets to the Hotel and man that was NOT fun...but we finally made it and had a night to relax...we ordered pizza for delivery and stayed the rest of the night in the Hotel room vegging out...it was nice...the next day we got up and ready for the wedding which was being held at the St. Louis Missouri Temple...what an amazing Temple and the sealing was so spiritual it takes my breath away just thinking of it now...after the photos were done we all headed out and down the highway 4 hours to the house we stayed at in Branson which is Helen Kay's daughter Sandy(it was her daughter Ashly that got married)for the reception being held the next day... then after the reception that day we headed out around 4pm and drove all the way home none stop until we hit home on Sunday at 2pm a 23 hour drive straigth through...taking turns driving of course...it was all such a great experience to see such beautiful country and have a chance to go all the way back east...and to be able to do it will such great people was even better...so enjoy the photos of the trip along the way
all the horses in the trailer

our travel companion...Booker...Helen Kay's pom...
this was in SD at a rest stop...they had these at all the rest stops...a cement teepee...quite a site
first bridge we saw...in SD
you all know this HANDSOME man...
I had Shane take this just to prove I was there...LOL!!!
a railroad bridge...taken out the truck window...since we didn't get to stop much I did most of my photos that way...so I didn't get everything like I would have liked to
the St. Louis Missouri arch

such an interesting building I had to capture it...this was in Independence Missouri...we got to spend most of our time around Missouri so that is why I have more photos from there than anywhere else...and can you believe it, I got none from Kentucky...so I guess we will just have to go again...LOL!!!
they had so many bridges in Missouri...they had one that had a section that would lift up to let the boats go under it...I wish I could have gottin that one but since I was just shooting out the window it wasn't possible
this is how allot of the trip felt to me...a blur!!!
the appolation mountains...they were pretty and I would have loved to have seen them when the trees were in full bloom...but I think our Big Horns are still prettier
Virginia...the new home for the horses
all the pretty horses and a rainbow to sum it up...

Thank you Keith and Helen Kay for this amazing experience...we will never forget it...Thanks for every thing

Welcome home!! It's so fun to see your pictures! I bet you're exhausted! What great memories!
what a trip! glad you're back home again safely. i like the pix of the bridges. and that wierd building- maybe it is a hindu temple or something? very shiny...
The wierd building IS a temple. However it is not Hindu.... it is the REORGANIZED Church of Jesus Christ of LatterDay Saints. Gramdma C. has been inside that one when she went on a vacation to Independence and Nauvoo. Cool building, tho......
